Beijing Foreign Studies University and the US-China Education Trust are pleased to announce theASN Professor Mei Renyi American Studies Essay Competition, 2018.Building on the success of the inaugural competition, this year’s competition will take place in the spring semester of 2018 and is open to all Chinese graduate students interested in American Studies.
Essays must be written inEnglish.
Relevant norms for academic writing must be observed.
Essays submitted for this competition must be original work and cannot be part of any other academic projects.
Essays should be3,000~6,000 words.
Creativity and ingenuity are encouraged.
Essays must be submitted BOTH in PDF and DOC formats by email.
Submissions must include a cover sheet (as attached) listing student’s name, university affiliation, year of graduate study, email, address, and phone number.
Essay Judging and Awards
All submissions will be evaluated in a two-round review system, by a panel of four and three reviewers respectively.
The winners will be selected and announced by September 1, 2018.
The winners will be invited to present their winning essays at the 15thASN Conference in Shanghai (at East China Normal University) from November 2-4, 2018 with their accommodation and meals covered by the organizing committee.
All other participants may also attend the ASN annual meeting, with fees covered by themselves or their respective institutes.
